Came back from school to find that Papa had moved all the hats into my room, ‘so as not to distress your dear mother – out of sight, out of mind!’ (They are not out of my sight – but it seems that does not matter!)

Meanwhile – alas! – two whole days have passed and I still have received no word from Selena.

Perhaps the card was too nautical.
